There is another view prevalent about Agra, that is was founded by the maternal grand father of Lord Krishna, whose name was ‘Maharaja Agrasen’ or ‘Ugrasen’ . After sometime, the name wwas spoilt and ultimately, it came to be known as Agra. During the Mahabharat period, indraprastha-preset new Delhi, was the capital of the Pandavas. AAccording to some references in the Mahabharat, Agra was prosperous city and was not very far away from indraprastha.
